Day 64
We are reflected in the spinner of an airplane. (I thought it was called a nose cone, but was quickly corrected...)
He considers flying his selfish temptation (the word for the day) but I see it as his neglected passion that used to bring him great joy. Life, work and other responsibilities have left his flying days in the past, but the desire still burns deeply; I will encourage him to rediscover his joy. Fostering joy is not selfish, but rather necessary to feeling fulfilled.

Day 63
I didn't leave the house today, but I still witnessed kindness, my word for the day. I broke a glass jar of buttons and as soon as he heard the shatter, he rushed to check on me. When I pricked my hand with a shard, he gently laid his paw on my leg, as to reassure me.
The older I get, the more I find the company of animals more genuine than that of most humans...

Day 62
The word of the day for my Church's Lenten photo-of-the-day activity was "heart."
I found a beautiful heart in the quiet of the cemetery.
She died as a small baby, and her heart has stood quietly for 114 years, as to never be forgotten.

Day 61
The only unique contribution that we will ever make in this world will be born of our creativity.-Brene Brown
Creativity. As children we exercise it with abandon. Somewhere along the way, because of fear, many learn to stuff it or suppress it, using the cliche' of "I'm not creative."
It never goes away however. It remains hidden inside waiting to be released. Creativity does not require a degree, training or validation. Creativity just requires the desire to create, for creations sake.
* If you would like to read more about creativity, I recommend Rising Strong by Brene Brown and Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Day 60
Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
May the season of Lent and spring bring you strength and growth.

Day 59
"Where you lead, others will follow."
It is to easy to sit back and complain about the things around us. What is harder is the decision to take initiative and invoke change. It is frightening to walk a different path than those that all others are walking.
It is only when we decide to step off the well worn path, (or an easily flowing river in this goose's case) and go our own path that we inspire others to follow.

Day 58
BONUS PHOTO!!!
A juvenile Bald Eagle flying high, as two adult Balds sit in a nearby tree.
I've never been close enough to hear them chatter, but today I heard just that.
As the Juvenile flew around, playing and/or antagonizing the mature birds, I am quite sure I heard the Adult Bald squawking "Be Kind and MAKE GOOD CHOICES!!!"
Parent language is universal throughout all species.
