Day 106: EMPTY
It is a shell that once held life, but it is now empty.
On this Easter Day, I am well aware of so many that are full of emptiness.
But this Easter Day brings me the comfort that the tomb was also empty, and thus we will be reunited with those that have since left their shells behind.

Day 105: SILENT
It stands silent.
No signs of life, only memories of days gone by that echo off the hillside.
Once a home, it is now a weathered shell hollowly poised against the emerging life of spring.

Day 103: LOVE
I wonder if this equation is still true.
This kind of drunk love, the carve-your-name-in-a historic-bandshell-kind of love... this is the easy kind of love. This is the intoxicating and addicting kind of love.
The I-want-to-punch-you-in-the-throat-but-I-am-choosing-to-love-you-anyway kind of love... that is the hard stuff. But it is that choice, to love anyway, even though they, or you may be very unlovable... that is when the good stuff happens...

Day 102: SPY
I spy, with my little eye,
A sure sign of spring.
A symbol of renewal.
A birth of color and shape only the close inspection of nature can reveal.

Day 101: GROWTH
The oldest moved four times before he was 4, so this wall is missing the growth of his first years.
This corner has marked the children's growth since our move here almost 8 years ago..
And there it will stay, mark by mark, year by year.
A visual reminder of time that has passed.

Day 100: Worship
Lately I have been at the worship of a calender, cell phone, computer and clock. It is far from a holy, or healthy, place to exist.
Tonight the younger two and I drove out to Maryvale, the Provincial House for the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation. As soon as I crossed the bridge I could feel the peace. It is a sacred place. I have been here for 8 years now, and had heard of the paths and prayer tunnel, but had not discovered them yet. I drove and saw the stations of the cross. As we rounded the bend in the car, this beautiful prayer spot appeared.
I gave thanks for discovering this beautiful place and look forward to the warm weather when I can walk the prayer tunnel in the trees.
