Day 357
Deep in the Present Forest, in Christmasland, waits a creature that is so sly, so cunning, it is rarely captured on film.
But alas! Today I was able to document its presence!
As I eyed him, he held my gaze... daring me to try to flush him out. Knowing he held the ability to cause massive destruction and toppling of any twinkling, upright conifer, I chose to let him remain in hiding. I warned any present-counters and gift-shakers that they should get close at their own risk, as they may be attacked by protective paws from the depths of the forest....

Day 356
Self Portrait.
I am so close to being done, and find myself reflecting on this past year. I have learned so much, about photography and myself. I am not the same photographer or person I was 356 days ago and I am so grateful for that fact. My plan is to compile this past year of work into some sort of printed publication. I am so thankful for everyone who has followed along, for your words of encouragement, for your thoughts on how the images or words resonated with you. My goals were really to just complete the year, and produce something positive that people looked forward to, in a world of so much negativity. I hope I have accomplished that.

Tonight our oldest advanced from Scout to Tenderfoot. With each advancement, parents are also recognized.
He awards his father the Tenderfoot pin. It was a pretty sweet moment.

Day 354
I have not been participating in Ballet this fall (something I didn't know how desperately I missed until tonight..) so imagine my amazement to see Alexa, who I had danced with last year, on pointe! She just started last year with us... a very quiet, very hard worker. She just got her pointe shoes LAST WEEK... and here she is doing an arabesque on pointe, a move that is incredibly difficult. !! My heart swelled with "cool aunt" pride.. (the title they had bestowed me last year.... ) Never stop dreaming people.. never stop striving and attempting something new... you may just surprise yourself and you will surely amaze others!

Day 353
Round 2 of Cub Scouts for us. Tonight Cub Scout Troop 562 presented the flag for the National Anthem at the High School Basketball game. We hope for 2nd generation Eagle Scouts. The boys joining their father in that Elite 4% of Scouts who attain their Eagle Rank. What concludes the journey, as fine young men with an Eagle rank, begins in too-big shirts and adorable awkward salutes.

The City of Bridges illuminates at night during the Holiday Season!
I love this walking bridge that crosses from the town to the university.
It is beautiful both in the day, and in the evening.
